THE BAY AREA AMPHIBIAN AND REPTILE SOCIETY

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

The Bay Area Amphibian and Reptile Society is an education and conservation group of amateur and professional herpetologists who want to share their knowledge, enthusiasm, and friendship with others interested in these fascinating creatures.

At our meetings we feature speakers on subjects such as conservation, care and medical treatment, captive breeding, field studies, as well as many other interesting areas of herpetology. There are also workshops where people can bring their pets, relate their many experiences, and share their knowledge.

In addition, BAARS organizes and participates in a number of live shows, exhibits, and presentations. Our members have a wide variety of herps which can be seen and usually handled at our events.

Membership in BAARS includes a subscription to our newsletter, Behind BAARS, which is published 11 times/year as well as an annual copy of the Membership Roster which includes all members and their herp interests. The roster can be a valuable resource for finding knowledgable people for help or information about specific types of animals.
