Contact Information
To list an animal for adoption, or to request contact information for an animal you would like to adopt, email the BAARS Adoptions Coordinator at goBaars@yahoo.com. Please, include the reference number and the type of animal on the subject line.

The Bay Area Amphibian and Reptile Society serves the larger San Francisco Bay Area. For animals located outside this area, please, contact an adoption service in your area.

Listing Animals
To list an animal for adoption, submit the listing request form at the bottom of this page, or email the BAARS Adoptions Coordinator and provide as much information as possible.

Listings are posted as soon as possible at this website until the owner withdraws the listing or for about 6 months, whichever comes first. Listings are printed in the next monthly BAARS newsletter once, unless relisting is requested.

Adopting Animals
To adopt a listed animal, email the BAARS Adoptions Coordinator, who will send you contact information for the animal. It is up to the owner to interview potential adopters and to decide whom to adopt to. Any arrangements for transfer and/or shipping are also to be made between the owner and the adopter.
PLEASE email the BAARS Adoptions Coordinator after you adopt an animal so that the animal can be unlisted.

Fees
Listing an animal in the newsletter and/or at this website is free. Most animals through this website are also free, however there may be a fee for some fostered animals to non-BAARS members.

Supporting BAARS Adoptions
If you adopt an animal from BAARS adoptions, or if you are listing an animal with BAARS Adoptions, we encourage you to make a small donation to BAARS Adoptions to help us cover our expenses, such as this website, the BAARS newsletter, care of animals left with us and their vet bills, and hundreds of long-distance phone calls. To support BAARS Adoptions, send your donation of any amount to:

Boas & Pythons

Ball Python, male, 5 1/2 yrs old ("Sparky")
Unfortunately, I need to find a wonderful home for him for several different reasons including space issues in my small apartment and I am starting school. I realize that ball pythons don't take a lot of time and they don't need a huge space to live in but I feel strongly that he deserves the opportunity for more attention and a bit larger living space. It saddens a great deal since I made the commitment years ago when I got him (I'm a teacher and got him for the classroom) and he is SO sweet! (especially being around children). This is difficult for me.
[REF #7202] Ask about me.

Ball Pythons, 1 male and 1 female, 3-4 ft long, at least 7-8 yrs old
Health Status: good
Disposition: good
Current Diet: 1 live med rat every other week
Vet visits? not recently - in good health
Reason for Vet Visit? checkup and gender identification
Accessories (Cage, Food): custom wood house
Reason for Adoption Request: can't have them in my classroom where I teach now
Special Needs: this is a pair - they live together.
Level of Urgency: moderately high
Location (City): San Jose near Oakridge Mall
[REF #7207] Ask about me.

Argentine Boa, female, 4.5 - 5 ft long
My daughter has a 4.5 - 5 ft. Female Argentine Boa that she would like to donate. She has had it for 4 years. Currently she is in an internship in Martinez. Due to the commute, studying and being unable to give her the attention she needs, she is looking for a good home for her.
[REF #7210] Ask about me.

Ball Python (male, 1 yr old) and Red Tail Boa (female, 3 yrs old)
We have one year old ball python male and a 3 year old red tail boa female. These are amazing creatures each with their own unique personality. Both are gorgeous. We are planning on moving soon and don't think that it would be a good move for our snakes so we would love for them to be adopted into a new home. We love our animals very much and we know that you will also.
The snakes are in their cage fully equipped with heat lamp, water bowl, sand and branches.
[REF #7304] Ask about me.
